Hyperthyroidism is a condition of hyper-secretion of thyroid hormones T3 and T4 by the thyroid. Eighty five percent of the time this condition is caused by an auto-immune disease called Grave’s disease in which the body is producing anti-bodies that are attacking the thyroid gland. Symptoms include weight loss, nervousness, loose stools or diarrhea, heat intolerance, fatigue, rapid heart rate and sometime insomnia.
