When assessing fertility issues in a woman, a Naturopathic or Conventional medical doctor will take into consideration factors affecting hormonal balance including irregularity of the menstrual cycles, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and other conditions that cause a lack of ovulation to occur. Both types of medicine can also look for and identify any blockage of the fallopian tubes that complicates pregnancy. The patient is also assessed for hypothyroid, which is a known cause of infertility.

“My other doctors just treated the symptoms; they treat the source of the problem so that it can be healed.”  Kayce, Oceanside

At Vitalia, we also look deeper for the underlying cause of the problem.  To optimize health of the patient and fertility, we promote a healthy diet and can recommend specific foods for the patient to enhance fertility.  We look at the amount of stress that patient is under, and how the patient is reacting to stress through adrenal and hormonal testing.

A wonderful time to look deeper at a woman’s health and body is prior to getting pregnant. It is a great opportunity to enhance both the woman’s health and the health of the unborn baby.  By normalizing the stress response in the body, many women experience improvements in their moods, energy levels, mental outlook, and improvement in menstrual symptoms.  Since the cortisol fluctuations in the mom directly affect the baby, the future baby will benefit enormously from this work.  Studies show that when the mom has a healthy adrenal system the baby will be less fussy and sleep better.
